T-Shirt Weaving
I’m weaving a bath mat out of old t-shirts. What I’ve learned so far: one shirt weaves about 8 inches, packing with a wide-tooth comb works better than a narrow fork, and the heddle will fray the cotton warp (maybe because the cotton is too thick for the heddle) so I use it to raise and lower the threads only.
That looks really nice. What sett are you using?

Well, the cotton warp is probably about 15 WPI, which would make it about 7 EPI. But I’m spacing it to 5 EPI. The t-shirt is packed in very, very tightly (for a rigid heddle loom), and it’s running about 4 PPI. Sett would make more sense to me if I planned ahead. 🙂
