It only took two inkle bands for my crochet cotton heddles to start snapping. I had some braided fishing line handy, having read it can be a good homemade heddle substitute, and so I tied 50 new “string” heddles for my Schacht loom. They work great! I highly recommend you venture into the sporting goods section.

This is a new project, cotton border and alpaca pattern I found the pattern online at http://www.norsegirl.com. Be aware that this creates a fancy front but a pretty plain back.
